As the senior developer in the .Net team, besides from core development tasks, my role involved acting as deputy and often substitute lead. Duties included; maintenance of internal dev, staging and production servers, consulting with architects, marketers, business analysts and producers, directly managing clients and CMS vendors, mentoring the other .Net developers in Sitecore, .Net and SQL Server best practices and presenting the company’s technical offering to new business.
Projects:
- Blackmagic Design: team lead for the re-development of the Blackmagic website into an Umbraco CMS in time for the NAB 2011 show. Using Umbraco Complete modules, a high-profile website was built on-time and within budget to the delight of the client with a six-week turnaround.
- Simplot Digital Platform: complete SLDC involvement in the creation of a Sitecore CMS 6.3 platform for Simplot and it’s branded websites including John West, Bird’s Eye and Leggos. Using .Net 3.5; creation of customised template field types, setup of Web Forms for Marketers, Sitecore OMS and multi-site module. Content import from MySQL.
- Hoyts.com.au and Hoyts.co.nz: maintenance and new development on the Hoyts consumer sites. Development of new features including home page redesign, creation of Hoyts Rewards program, upgrade of Sitecore CMS from 5.3 to 6.3. Regularly dealing with Hoyts IT, Hostworks (web and database hosting) and Vista; vendors of third-party cinema ticketing platform.
- Hoyts Corporate Australia & New Zealand: two new Sitecore sites used to showcase corporate offerings from Hoyts.
- Hoyts Mobile Australia & New Zealand: new mobile websites for Hoyts; movie and session times stored in JSON files, website coded in MVC 2.0 and cutting-edge HTML5 and CSS3 techniques to streamline front-end development. One of a handful of sites piloting a new Paypal Mobile Web Checkout API. Developed for iPhone, Android and Blackberry.
- Maxxia NZ and Remserv: lead developer on Umbraco websites for insurance and salary-packaging company.

Projects:
- ConnectFurniture.com.au; customisation of Sitecore 6.0 with eCommerce module for a web shop using ASP.Net 3.5, jQuery, Ajax, SQL 2005, Syncfusion XLSIO and integration with Endeca search engine.
- Visual Connect (LunarChart 3.0); an advanced AJAX/jQuery application to aid businesses in strategic planning. Server code developed in ASP.Net 3.5 with MVC and SQL Server 2005
- Hills (Direct Alarm Supplies); developed ETL application using .Net and SQL 2005 to load Hills inventory into new Sitecore-based CMS system. Develop front end search components and configure backend indexing using Lucene.Net and wrote customised backend applications using XAML and the Sitecore API.

Wrote, tested and deployed content migration scripts for thousands of articles, pages and forum posts from the old CMS.

Major Projects/Accomplishments:
- Acted as a technical lead overseeing a team of six consisting of developers and testers. Reporting to the project manager, my role in the team besides from development was to direct development and testing tasks, mentor other developers, liaise with the client and BA and ultimately to ensure the delivery of a high-priority, high-visibility application for the Department.
.Net 2.0, SQL Server 2000, Replication Services, VB.Net, MS Reporting Services, Enterprise Blocks - Supported a series of .Net applications (web and desktop) which allowed the Conduct & Ethics unit to process police record checks made by school principals for new employees. The system has operated smoothly at DE&T for over two years and is a model for police check systems currently being implemented across other state government departments.
.Net 1.1, SQL Server 2000, GPG encryption, integration with Crimtrac database
- Completed from scratch the requirements gathering, technical design, business analysis, development, wrote test plans and deployed a rewrite of the Higher Education & Regulation Division internal website to manage registration of higher education bodies in Victoria.
.Net 1.1, SQL Server 2000 - Reverse-engineered the department’s data sources for the Target 20 project with the aim of mapping all the sources of data for the Department’s applications, done in consultation with BI experts from Praxa and using Embarcadero ER Studio to map entity relationships.
- Developed the web front end to the Department’s payroll system enabling over 100,000 employees to receive their pay advice and superannuation reports online.
.Net 1.1, SQL Server 2000, Linked Server connection to the Department’s HRMS system - Extensive developments on an ASP web application which allowed schools to record their FBT (Fringe Benefit Tax) details, including vehicle data.
ASP, SQL Server 2000 - Developed and maintained the LOTE Census application allowing the Languages Unit to determine LOTE funding for public schools

ASP, SQL Server 2000, data import of capability matrix from Excel into SQL Server - Maintained over five years the IT Training application used to manage school training courses for the CASES 21 software.

- The development environment for all applications used Microsoft technologies including Site Server for deployment and publication.
- User management for all applications integrated with the largest Exchange userbase in the Southern hemisphere using Active Directory Global Access List.
- Represented the Department on a $100,000 tender evaluation to pilot risk management software.
